About our longstanding partnership with Marie Méro

Marie Méro has been a loyal customer of Axepta BNP Paribas for many years. The Belgian women’s fashion brand has chosen Axepta BNP Paribas as its terminal supplier and transaction processing partner since its establishment. The company has been growing significantly over years and has 9 shops across Flanders and 1 branch in the Netherlands.

Recently, the payment terminals used in the 10 shops were renewed. “The new devices offer considerably more potential”, says Heidi Mussche from the accounting and HR department at Marie Méro. “The faster processor guarantees even shorter payment processing times. In addition, the ability to accept multiple payment methods is a real booster for increasing our turnover. For example, we can now also accept gift vouchers and many others. But what really makes the difference is the online portal, through which we can access clear and precise overviews of all our transactions in the blink of an eye. This is quite an improvement for accounting over the former weekly reports. Also, the reports that by default provide a global overview of our transactions were split by shop at our request, a real added value for us. Our request was processed in no time.”

With the replacement of the payment terminals, the software that linked the terminals to the cash registers also had to be changed. However, the time required to develop such a new system is usually several weeks, as this involves a long series of programming and testing.

“Axepta BNP Paribas connected our payment terminal to an electronic POS system in a matter of minutes”, explains Kristof Van Steenkiste, manager of SoftTouch. “Being Marie Méro’s cash register supplier, we supported the optimisation by making our cash register program available. A pilot test went ahead in the shop in Ostend, after which the implementation was successfully carried out in all 10 shops.”

The various options are also highly valued by the customer. Despite the automatic operation of the linking system, manual operations remain possible. This means that in the event of a technical failure of the cash register, you can still accept payments manually by using your terminal. You can also continue to carry out operations such as authorising split payments or different payment methods. This way, linking the terminal and cash register does not in any way compromise the flexibility and user-friendliness of payments.

“We are very satisfied with Axepta BNP Paribas, both in terms of the solutions they provide and the support we receive”, says Heidi. “The quick roll-out of the implementation has been remarkable. Within two weeks, all our shops were equipped.”
