Meeting with Olivier Sauvage, CFO of Axepta BNP Paribas

With more than 25 years of experience in finance, Olivier has built a rich career between Brussels, Lille and Barcelona, evolving in both large multinational companies and SMEs. Having studied at IESEG in Lille, he has always kept finance as his guiding thread. He began collaborating with the BNP Paribas group in 2013 in Financial Controlling and joined Axepta BNP Paribas in May 2023 as Senior Financial Controller, before becoming Chief Financial Officer in July 2025. A role that allows him to go beyond the financial dimension alone and contribute to the company’s overall strategy.

Why Axepta BNP Paribas?

What attracts Olivier is the human scale of the company. He enjoys seeing the immediate impact of his work, evolving in an organization where exchanges are direct and hierarchical barriers are limited. This closeness fosters efficiency, transparency and collaboration. Joining Axepta BNP Paribas also allowed him to discover a fascinating sector: payments.

A varied daily routine serving growth

In his role, Olivier ensures the reliability of financial statements, the preparation of budgets, forecasts and strategic plans, as well as the monitoring of cash flow. The year is punctuated by quarterly closings and forecasts, but no two days are alike. Between ad hoc analyses, participation in projects and supporting other departments, he evolves in an environment where every action leaves a measurable impact. “Here, we learn every day. Nothing is set in stone, and that’s what makes the job so exciting”, he says, referring to this constant evolution.

A committed team that makes the difference

Olivier’s greatest pride lies in the stability and commitment of his team. Each member has found their place, develops their skills and contributes to delivering reliable data, essential for making the right decisions. Together, they work to support healthy and sustainable growth. Seeing team members progress, gain maturity and strengthen their expertise is, for him, a true collective achievement.

An open collaboration and a culture of proximity

At Axepta BNP Paribas, interactions are simple: a direct call is worth more than a long email chain. Regular meetings help share topics, needs or concerns. Each department knows it cannot move forward alone, and the smooth circulation of information has become a key part of the internal culture. For Olivier, Axepta BNP Paribas can be summed up in three words: proximity, transparency and impact. A company where everyone can play a part, where learning is fast, and where the results of one’s work are truly visible.
